BJP's 'satyagraha' against Election Commission or political stunt?

It is being speculated whether the huge dharna against the Election Commission (EC) ​ pulled off by Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) leaders and workers today at the Lanka gate of the Benaras Hindu University in Varanasi was a real protest or a political stunt.

The EC had cleared four out of five venues for Narendra Modi's rallies. Yet much hell has been raised by BJP top leaders like Arun Jaitley and Amit Shah who have even asked the Returning Officer Pranjal Yadav's removal. Samajwadi Party leaders too aren't happy with the EC officials since they claim their workers keep getting arrested. Thus the allegation of bias doesn't seem to hold ground and it seems the BJP have managed to create a mountain out of a molehill.

The BJP claims it was unfair of the EC to allow Rahul Gandhi to hold a road-show and deny Narendra Modi of the same
