At the fag end of election campaign, war of words between India's first political family Gandhi's and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has reached its peak. Shortly after Modi took on Priyanka Gandhi for the first time and her late father Rajiv Gandhi for their "arrogance" while campaigning in Amethi, she vowed that people in Amethi will reply to Modi's barbs. Without naming Modi, Priyanka said, "They have insulted my martyred father in Amethi....the people here will never forgive him."

She vowed that Amethi "ka ek ek booth se jawaab aayega (each polling booth will exact revenge".

Modi had said in his speech, "The Gandhis talk about my anger and they talk about how everyone follows Rajiv Gandhi's vision. Andhra Pradesh chief minister was humiliated for not receiving Rajiv Gandhi at the airport who was at that time a party general secretary - and his mother, Indiraji was the PM."
