BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi says it was 'wonderful' meeting Bhutan PM Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Meenakshi Lekhi on Sunday said that it feels great when India is friends with other neighbouring countries and added that it was wonderful meeting Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay.

"Bhutan and India have a very old relation. It feels great when you see your neighbors are friends and it was wonderful to meet the prime minister of Bhutan," said Lekhi.

"We discussed electricity production, and issues related to commerce and education," she added.

Toghay arrived here today with a delegation to attend prime minister-designate Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony.

Tobgay was warmly received and welcomed at the airport by Ruchira Kamboj, India's envoy at UNESCO.

As part of his official visit, Bhutan prime minister is likely to meet Modi on May 27.

During the meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations and other issues of common interest and concern.

Prime minister designate Narendra Modi in a first of kind has invited all the heads of State from SAARC nations to attend his swearing-in ceremony on May 26.
