The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released a list of 32 candidates for the upcoming by-elections across several states scheduled to be held on October 21.
The Election Commission had last week announced bypolls to 67 assembly seats, spread across 18 states, to be held on October 21. The poll body, however, later postponed the elections to 15 assembly seats in Karnataka to December 5.
The list of BJP candidates was released after a meeting of Central Election Committee (CEC) of the party which approved the names for the upcoming bypolls.
The list of candidates includes one each for Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telangana; two each for Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Sikkim; four for Assam; five for Kerala; and 10 for Uttar Pradesh.
