The BJP on Thursday hit back at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his remarks that BJP leadership was ignorant about ground realities of Jammu and Kashmir, asking why the NC leader had not resolved the issues of the people, if he knew them during his party's rule here in the past six years.

At a rally in Vijaypur belt of Samba district on Wednesday, Omar had said that BJP and its leadership was ignorant about ground realities in Jammu and Kashmir, and were trying to mislead people with false tales.

"BJP has double standards as they attempt to mislead people by narrating false tales. We are surprised over the ignorance of BJP and its leadership about the ground realities in Jammu and Kashmir," Omar had said.

"If whatever CM saying is true, then can he tell, as a local party, does he know about the ground realities and the real issues of the state?" state spokesperson and state election media in-charge Arun Kumar Gupta asked.

"If yes, then what did he do to resolve those issues in the last six years?

"As a local party, if, NC knows about the ground realities and the problems faced by the people, then Chief Minister should have worked to resolve those problems. But, he and his government failed to resolve their problems," he said. Gupta also reminded Omar that Narendra Modi was now the Prime Minister of India and he knows every nook and corner of the country.

"He (Modi) is not only very well aware of problems and issues country is facing, but also, he is well-grounded with the issues of all the states. Narendra Modi knows more than Omar Abdullah, who is the CM of the state just because of dynasty rule," he said.
