Legislation for cow protection, free smart phones for women from families below poverty line and enabling 1,000 farmers to travel to Israel and China every year to study agricultural practices are some of the promises in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election manifesto for Karnataka.
The poll manifesto was released by BJP’s chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa and Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday, a week after the Congress unveiled its poll promises.
The party also announced a multitude of schemes for farmers, promising to allocate Rs 1,50,000 crore for various irrigation projects in the state, with a promise that water will reach every single field.
