Ram temple at Ayodhya is still on the agenda of the party and BJP wanted to rope in Muslims as well.
RSS does not have time to either venture into politics or remote control the BJP, party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said on Sunday. Vijayvargiya's statement comes days after Congress leader Manish Tewari's tweet ahead of the RSS-BJP's coordination meeting that the "RSS-BJP meet demonstrates that remote control is now overt control. Modi may be PM but (Mohan) Bhagwat is the boss. BJP govt puppet of RSS and oligarchs."
Hitting back at the Congress, Vijayvargiya said, "the Sangh (RSS) minds its work and so does the BJP. Sangh is a giant organisation which runs more than 200 organisations in different fields. It is working on different projects. RSS is not having time to venture into political arena and remote control the BJP."
He said Sangh does not need to wield remote control over BJP as the latter has a competent leadership.
To a query on Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP) pulling out of the fledgling grand alliance of JD(U), RJD and Congress in Bihar, Vijayvargiya said, "Our opponents first joined hands because they were scared of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wave, but now they are fighting over personal motives." He said the falling out of SP is indicative of the future of the alliance in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
To another query, the BJP leader said the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya is still on the agenda of his party and that they wanted to rope in Muslims as well. However, he added that the BJP will respect the court's verdict in this regard. "We want to take into confidence our Muslim brethren for the construction of Ram temple. We want to construct Ram temple without hurting anybody's sentiments as Lord Ram had never hurt anybody feelings," Vijayvargiya said.
He termed as "laughable" the Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Arun Yadav's statement that BJP was trying to saffronise the forthcoming Hindi conference in Bhopal beginning from September 10, and said Yadav has brought "disrespect" to MP with his statement. "Hindi is lifeline of the country. We are proud that MP is playing host to the conference," he added.
