BJP names 47 candidates for Haryana Assembly polls

The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday cleared a list of names for the remaining 47 seats for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls.

The meeting which was held at the party headquarters was presided over by BJP President, Amit Shah, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and attended by all members of the Central Election Committee of the party here.

The BJP has given importance to women and youth while deciding on these 47 seats.

Speaking at a press conference, BJP leader J P Nadda said, "Out of 90 assembly seats atleast 22 seats will be represented by candidates who are aged below 45. All sections of society have been kept in mind while deciding the names."

The Bharatiya Janata Party had earlier released a list of 43 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections.

The assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana will be held on October 15 while the counting of votes will take place on October 19.
