BJP MP Sanjay Kakade announces his own candidature from Pune Lok Sabha seat

Kakade has confidence that he can win the Pune seat with a margin of over 3.5 lakh votes.

BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade who had created huge controversy by predicting dismal performance of his party in Gujarat election through his own survey has now carried out a fresh survey in Pune and claimed that his candidature for the Pune Lok Sabha seat for BJP in the next year's general elections. 

Kakade has also confidence that he can win the Pune seat with a margin of over 3.5 lakh votes. Currently BJP's Anil Shirole is the MP from Pune Lok Sabha seat. 

When Kakade was asked that why will BJP think of another candidate while Shirole is there already there as a MP, he said, "My party's focus is to attract young generation and I have already made 1.5 lakh members for the party in Pune. The party will decide who has the merit to win from Pune seat and on the basis of that merit, it will give ticket to the right candidate."

Kakade also claimed that he has already started the ground work ahead of next year's elections. "There are eight MLAs and 128  BJP corporators in Pune Lok Sabha constituency. I have already planned to give ten volunteers for per corprorator and MLA to reach out to voters. I am ready with nearly ten thousand volunteers to work for the party in Pune. I have already started the work through my volunteers," Kakade said. 

Kakade is known for carrying out his own surveys for elections. In recently held Gujarat elections, he had sent his own team to carry out survey in the state and had predicted anti incumbency factor against his party in the state. He had also stated that if BJP wins in Gujarat, it will be only and only because of Narendra Modi. 

Before Gujarat elections prediction, Kakade had predicted that BJP would win 92 seats in Pune Municipal elections and had dared to quit politcs if the number would be less than 92. BJP won 98 seats in the elections. 

Now also he has carried out the survey of eight assembly seats in Pune, all are held by BJP and claimed that out of eight seats, there are four seats which are in danger zone. "The survey shows that four of our eight MLAs in Pune are in danger zone ahead of next assembly elections. However, my ground work for Lok Sabha election will help these four MLAs to revive their positions," the MP said. 

When asked will he continue to work for the party if BJP gives ticket to another candidate, he said, "I have already conveyed my wish of contesting Lok Sabha election from Pune to the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and I am confidendent that the party will not deny me the ticket. Even if it decides to give ticket to another candidate, I will continue to work for the party and for that candidate but I am sure that it will not happen," he said.
