BJP MLA from Kota North, Prahlad Gunjal, who was suspended by the party for allegedly threatening a senior district health official, organised a public meeting in his constituency, saying he has not committed a 'serious crime' as Congress leaders have done.

Addressing a meeting of his supporters in Kunadhi area of his constituency on Monday, Gunjal expressed respect to BJP high command's decision, and said he has not committed a crime like murder or rape as Congress leaders have done. Gunjal said he had spoken only for his workers for whom 'he lives and can die'.

Meanwhile, Ladpura MLA Bhawani Singh Rajawat, who has also come under attack by opposition parties, for allegedly threatening voters to cast in his favour during November's local body elections, on Tuesday organised a 'Ulhaas Utsav' in Nayapura area, saying he 'spoke nothing wrong' with voters.

"I did not threat the voters but tried to convince them," he said.

Reacting to Gunjal's suspension, Senior Congress leader Ramnrayan Meena said punishing Gunjal and leaving the other leaders with the same sort of offence without any action, shows the saffron party's hollow claims of equal and democratic treatment to its all party workers.
