Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s speciality is to run the party proceedings democratically and that is the party's speciality. He assured the saffron camp's supporters that the BJP is not here for a short term, but will "serve Mother India for a long time."

The Prime Minister was speaking at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi during the felicitation ceremony of the new national president of the BJP, JP Nadda, who was elected unopposed today to the top organisational position of the party.

"I'm sure that under the leadership of JP Nadda party will move forward with its core values. The BJP may face more difficulty in the future and we must be ready. According to the needs and desires of the nation, moulding the workers and taking India ahead is our target," said PM Modi.

He also advised the party workers to walk with the party's core values in the journey ahead with love for the motherland.

Taking a sharp jibe at the Opposition, PM Modi asserted that those who were rejected by the public in elections have been left with very few weapons, and one of those few weapons is to spread 'misinformation'.

"There are people who dislike the principles which guide us. Our problems aren't because we're doing something wrong, it's because people of this country are blessing us," said the Prime Minister, critical of his opponents, "Those rejected by the public in elections are left with very few weapons, one of them is spreading 'misinformation'".

Finally, ending his note with a mark of confidence regarding the party's journey ahead, PM Modi said that under the leadership of JP nadda, the party will go ahead by abiding by its principles and ideologies. "We will have to face more challenges than what we faced as a political party in the opposition. He is an old friend. A party worker walks ahead with the duties given to him and shoulders his responsibilities to the best of his abilities. I have seen him doing that very well," PM Modi noted.

Former Union minister JP Nadda was on Monday elected as the national president of the Bharatiya janata Party (BJP). He was elected to the top organisational post unopposed.

According to the BJP constitution, the election to the national president is held after 50% of states have conducted organisational elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari; chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and state unit presidents of the party were present at the event.
