Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader J P Nadda said the party has discussed the issue of decreasing number of voters in the Kashmiri migrants voters' list during their meeting with the Election Commission here on Friday and demanded the process of registration of Kashmiri Migrant voters to be simplified

"A delegation of BJP leaders met the Election Commission today to discuss two matters. First matter is that of decreasing number of names in the voter's list enlisting Kasmiri Migrants. The number of names in a voter's list always increases, but in this case it has decreased from around 3 lakh voters to 1.5 lakh voters. We are demanding the reasons for such a sharp decrease in Kashmiri Migrant voters," said Nadda.

"The second matter that we discussed with the Election Commission is that we want the process of registration of Kashmiri migrant voters to be simplified," he added. Nadda further said the government needs to develop the infrastructure to reach these migrants in far corners of Jammu and Kashmir to speed up the registration process. He added that the issue of security measures in the Uttar Pradesh by-polls was also discussed during the meeting and added that the poll body has ensured deployment of additional security forces.
