BJP Central leadership takes charge of Rajasthan election strategy

The trio of senior BJP leaders, Union minister Prakash Javadekar and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and the national vice president Om Prakash Mathur are the key persons for the BJP’s electoral strategy here.

Soon after the dates for Assembly polls were announced in state, the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken charge of the state Assembly elections in Rajasthan. The trio of senior BJP leaders, Union minister Prakash Javadekar and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and the national vice president Om Prakash Mathur are the key persons for the BJP’s electoral strategy here. 

Javadekar was in Jaipur for three days where he took feedback from party leaders. While Mathur is trying to mobilise the inactive and veteran leaders of the party by visiting all the seven divisions across the state. The expansion of the state executive two days ago is also a part of the BJP’s electoral strategy.

The BJP has appointed Prakash Javadekar in charge of the state Assembly elections six days ago. While Shekhawat is the convenor of the state election managing committee. After receiving the order from national leadership for Rajasthan elections, Javadekar came to Jaipur.  During this time, he took meetings with chief minister Vasundhara Raje, party’s state chief Madan Lal Saini and other BJP leaders and took feedback about preparations for the Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi has been made coordinator of the state media team. Trivedi will take charge of BJP’s media cell during the party’s campaigning in the Assembly election.

Kota MP Om Birla, who was previously involved in the race of party’s state presidential post, has been given charge of the media management committee for the Assembly elections. Birla is in Jaipur since the past three days and he along with Shekhawat and Javdekar are involved in the meetings at BJP headquarters.

According to sources, Mathur has been active in the state for the last 15 days. He has taken feedback from party leaders of all the seven divisions after the divisional tour of national president Amit Shah. The central leadership have given Mathur the responsibility of touching base with both the party’s veteran and inactive workers and leaders. 

The state executive was expanded on the basis of Mathur’s feedback. According to sources, Mathur is in direct touch of national party president Amit Shah. Apart from this, former minister and senior BJP leader Madan Dilawar too has been brought back from being in oblivion and has been made the party’s state spokesperson. Dilawar was sidelined from the organisation for five years.
