BJP can even give Dawood Ibrahim a clean chit: Digvijay Singh

Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Sunday said that he is not surprised over the clean chit given to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the audio tape controversy, adding that the BJP can give even Dawood Ibrahim the same.

"The BJP has always been giving a clean chit to their members. It can give a clean chit to Dawood Ibrahim as well," the Congress leader told the media.

The Congress has filed a complaint against the Chief Minister with the state election commission over the audio tape, in which Chouhan is purportedly heard asking for favours from another local BJP leader following assembly by-polls in the state.

Digvijay Singh had demanded the Chief Minister's resignation over the matter, accusing him of violating the model code of conduct.

The by-election took place on Saturday for the Garoth assembly seat, which fell vacant following the death of a legislator.
