The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the bye-elections to two Lok Sabha constituencies and one assembly constituency, which will be held on January 29.

The party has fielded Ramswaroop Lamba, son of former union minister Sanwar Lal Jat from the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency and Cabinet Minister Jaswant Singh Yadav from Alwar Lok Sabha constituency, while Bhilwara Zila Pramukh Shakti Singh Hada has been fielded from Mandalgarh assembly seat.

After the official announcement by the party on Sunday, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje spoke to the three candidates over phone and extended her wishes to the candidates.

Keeping in view the local vote bank in these three seats, the BJP has fielded candidates from Jat, Yadav and Rajput communities. Instead of experimenting with anything new, the BJP has chosen its candidates from the same castes as were earlier elected from the respective constituencies. The BJP has played Yadav card keeping in mind Yadav vote bank in Alwar where the Congress has also fielded Karan Singh Yadav.

The ruling party has also fielded Yadav candidate in Alwar, Jaswant Singh Yadav. Jaswant Yadav is currently the Cabinet Minister of Labor and Employment and Factory and Boiler Inspection Department in the State Government. He has good hold in Yadav vote bank and other sections of the society. Even in the BJP's Lok Sabha election 2014, Mahant Chandnath was given to the chance as Yadav candidate.

The BJP had fielded senior leader Sanwarlal Jat from Ajmer Lok Sabha for the 2014 election. Jat won with record votes and became a minister in the Central government. Sanwar Lal had a good catch in Ajmer area. That is why the BJP has fielded his son Ramswaroop Lamba in the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency bye-election. After Sanwarlal's death, Lamba is expected to get support from the voters as a future MP of Ajmer. Given the image of Sanwar Lal, BJP has given ticket to his son.

The number of Rajput voters is highest in the Mandalgarh assembly constituency of Bhilwara district. The BJP has declared candidate in Shakti Singh Hada from Mandalgarh. Hada is considered close to the late MLA Kirti Kumari. He is currently the head of Bhilwara district council. The image of Hada in Bhilwara is one of a belligerent leader and party worker.
