The workers were demanding the formation of the Cauvery Management Board

If you’re doing a hunger strike, do it right. Especially if it’s one that is just for a day. And when you notice how day-long strikes function in India, it’s usually between 9 am and 6 pm i.e. another day in the office. These AIADMK workers had decided to do the same to demand the formation of the Cauvery Management Board, The News Minute reported. But at lunch time, thinking that it was another day in office, these striking officials took a much-needed break to stuff their faces with biryani and tomato rice.
Images of the feast have gone viral with the workers dressed in pristine white, and the party logo proudly flaunted on their chests.

The images, shot in Vellore and Pudukottai, expose the "sincerity" with which the AIADMK has been fighting for the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board. “There is much anger against the ruling party's reluctance to take on the Centre's delay in setting up the Board and several have pointed out that the strike is a mere eyewash,” the report adds.
The protest, which began at around 8 am and concluded at 5 pm (post-breakfast and pre-dinner), was launched by Chief Minister E Palaniswamy and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam in Chennai. The entire cabinet of the AIADMK also reportedly took part in the strike, with ministers and other leaders driving the protest in districts across Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Tuesday refused to call off protest until the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) is formed. And from what these pictures suggest, neither will other members of his party.
The main opposition party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK), has also called for a strike on April 5.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Cauvery issue.
