Bihar road rage case: JD(U) leader's son Rocky Yadav, 3 others declared guilty of killing teen

Rocky Yadav had killed class 12 student Aditya Sachdeva after an altercation with the teen for overtaking his vehicle in Gaya last year.

Rakesh Ranjan Yadav alias Rocky Yadav, son of ruling JD(U)'s leader, has been found guilty of killing Aditya Kumar Sachdeva in a case of road rage in Bihar's Gaya, news agency ANI reported on Thursday.  

Aditya Kumar Sachdeva was shot at by Rocky Yadav, “to teach him a lesson for overtaking his vehicle” in Gaya on May 7, last year.

Son of Manorama Devi, a suspended Member of Legislative Council from ruling JD(U), Rocky Yadav was arrested on May 12, 2016 from his father's farm in Bodh Gaya. The Excise Department had later sealed the house of Manorama Devi also.

Rocky Yadav's father Bindeshwari Prasad Yadav alias Bindi Yadav, a co-accused in the case, is known in the area for his muscle and money power.

According to a Times of India report, the judgment has come five days before the September 5 deadline fixed by the Supreme Court.

Apart from Rocky Yadav, three others have also been pronounced guilty in the case. The court will announce the quantum of sentence on September 6.

The road rage incident had sparked outrage in Bihar with many saying that the ruling JD(U) was going soft on the convict.
