Former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday sealed the deal for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls.

The deal was finalised after Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, who was said to be upset over seat-sharing met Shah at his residence.

Soon after the meeting, Manjhi and Shah also exchanged sweets.

However, the exact number of seat sharing is likely to be disclosed at the press conference to be held later in the day.

Polls for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in five phases starting on October 12 and ending on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.

Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi said that his party had made Jitan Ram Manjhi the chief minister of Bihar whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made him a beggar.

Whearas, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that Manjhi's decision on seat sharing will help in removing jungle raj from Bihar.
