As a grand gesture of communal harmony, Muslims in Bihar have donated land so that the world's largest Hindu temple can be built, which will be able to seat almost 20,000 people.

The Muslim community has provided land at a nominal rate, it has been reported. The Mahavit Mandir Trust which is undertaking the project has obtained 200 acres of land.

According to the Huffington Post, Kunal, a former Indian Police Service officer has revealed the construction is scheduled to start in June at Janki Nagar in the East Champaran district and will cost RS 500 crore. The Valecha Construction Company, based in Mumbai will be constructing the temple which will be earthquake proof.

The temple was to be named 'Virat Angkor Wat Ram Mandir', however after people in Cambodia objected to it, it will be changed

Muslims had previously helped build a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Durga in Gaya district and another dedicated to God Shiva in Begusarai and Sitamarhi districts.
