Ahead of the state polls, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar attended several rallies at Sherghati, Samastipur, Banka and Bakhtiyarpur on Wednesday where he took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the rallies, he Nitish Kumar said that rather than advising the people of Bihar to ask him for my report card, the PM should tell people what has he done in the last 15 months, reported Prabhat Khabar. "He is only reminded of the people when elections approach and none of his promises made during the Lok Sabha polls have been met," Nitish said.

Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader and Nitish's former deputy Sushil Kumar Modi has strongly reacted to this statement. "When people are asking them (Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and Janata Dal United) about the last 25 years, instead of giving an answer they are asking for a 15-month-old government to give them a report card", Modi was quoted as saying in the report.

RJD ruled Bihar between 1990 and 2000 and Congress supported the party in the next term between 2000-2005. Former deputy CM Modi said that Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sonia Gandhi should explain why Bihar suffered miserably during those 10 years.

Attacking Nitish, Modi said, "If it makes him too uncomfortable to explain the 15 years of 'jangal raj' under RJD and Congress, then the least he could do is tell the people of Bihar about his own performance in 25 months after his party parted ways with the BJP."

Sushil Kumar Modi said that even after 10 years as CM, Nitish failed to provide drinking water in even 10% of the houses. He said that now that his term coming to an end, Nitish is coming up with promises.

Modi said that neither had every village been connected with roads, nor had electricity reached every home in Bihar as had been promised in the last election, Prabhat Khabar reports. Did he even accomplish 10% of what he had promised, Modi questioned.
