Bihar CM Nitish Kumar holds high level meeting on law and order

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a high level meeting on law and order for the third consecutive day on Friday and directed officials to provide security to construction companies.

The CM also instructed the officials to draw a rule for separation of crime investigation and law and order duty of policemen, an official statement said. He asked to do this by constituting a committee of high officials.

Kumar said the rule should be drawn for separation of investigation job and law and order duty by June. Kumar would interact with the DIG and SP of different districts on February 17 for district-wise review of crime situation, the statement said.

The meeting decided to review the system of transfer of policemen in police stations by Superintendent of Police. On need for helicopter for policing, the CM said it could be taken on lease. The meeting expressed displeasure over progress of construction of toilet for women in police stations.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, Director General of Police P K Thakur, Principal Secretary Home Amir Subhani, DG Training K S Dwivedi and Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Sunil Kumar among others.
