Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a sharp attack against Modi led government at Lok Sabha.

Gandhi clearly knew that not just BJP, but the entire nation will be watching his no-trust vote speech. And he didn't disappoint. Gandhi’s powerful speech rattled the NDA ministers when he said that the Defence Minister lied to the country and clearly spoke untruth about the Rafale deal.

"Everybody understands the relationship the prime minister has with certain people. Everybody understands the amount of money that goes into the marketing of the prime minister and everybody knows who have funded that. One of those people was given the Rafale contract.. The gentleman benefitted to the tune of Rs 45,000 crore," he alleged.

In his most robust attack against the PM, Gandhi said that "I can see him smiling. But there's a touch of nervousness in the gentleman & he is looking away from me. I can understand that. He cannot look into my eyes."

"Aap logon ke andar mere liye nafrat hai, aap mujhe Pappu aur bohot gaaliyan dekar bula sakte hain, lekin mere andar aapke liye nafrat nahi hai (You may hate me, call me 'Pappu' but I have no anger or hatred against PM, BJP)," Gandhi said ending the speech and he then walked across the aisle to hug PM Modi. He also went on to wink at the entire treasury benches.

Opposition leaders were impressed by Rahul Gandhi's performance at the parliament.  "What an astonishing performance by @RahulGandhi. It was a game-changing speech, tearing apart the Govt ’s claims & ending with that unscripted hug that has literally taken the BJP’s breath away #BhukampAaGaya," Congress MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted.

"Oh that wink my friend! Hit them hard where it hurts..Congratulations for unearthing their mines of lies & a fantastic speech," Tejashvi Yadav posted on Twitter.

"They kept trying to disrupt his speech. Kept raising flimsy points of order. Modiji's tears, barbs, insults, personal attacks won't let people forget @RahulGandhi's sterling performance. Modiji, #BhookampAaGaya," Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera tweeted.

The 16-th Lok Sabha witnessed its most intense showdown as the House debated TDP sponsored no-confidence motion against the Modi government.
