A day after the hospital inferno in Odisha, the kin of the victims who lost their lives in the incident protested outside Bhubaneshwar's Sum hospital on Wednesday, demanding compensation and jobs.

According to ANI, the families of the victims are demanding Rs 15 lakh compensation and jobs.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda who visited the patients assured them of support from the Odisha government for the treatment of patients.

"Prima facie I find some safety issues which need to be addressed, people's faith need to be reposed," he said.

The Health minister also said that there seemed to have been some protocol breach and an inquiry report would come soon. "The state government should see punitive action taken," he added.

Stating that the Centre would take measures to ensure better treatment of the patients, Nadda said the state government had constituted panels for conducting inquiry into the mishap.

The Health Minister and Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met patients at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, AMRI Hospital and KIMS Hospital.

Meanwhile, the superintendent of Sum Hospital, who was among the four officials arrested, was admitted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack on Wednesday after complaining of chest pain.
