In a tragic incident, a teenager has died while trying to take a selfie with a running train in West Bengal. Deceased Biswajit Midhya was 15 years old. The incident has happened in Noadar in East Burdwan district of the state.

According to Zee 24 Ghanta, Biswajit is originally a resident of Pakur in Jharkhand. But from childhood, Biswajit had stayed in his uncle's place at Kakra, in East Midnapore district of West Bengal. On the occasion of Lakshmi Puja, he had gone to a relative's place in Noadar on Wednesday. He was supposed to return on Friday. For that, he had gone to the station around 11 AM yesterday for boarding the train. At that time, Shantiniketan Express was passing by.

Suddenly, Biswajit had the bizarre idea of taking a selfie with a running train. The Express train was going through the up line. So Biswajit got into the down line track to click the selfie. So busy he was with trying to get the perfect frame, the youth didn't keep track of the fact that a goods train has come in the way. It mowed down Biswajit who was carelessly taking a selfie. Biswajit was severely injured and was rushed to the hospital by the locals. He succumbed to his injuries on Friday evening.

Selfie deaths are increasingly being recorded from various parts of the country and India leads the global chart in this regard. Very often people ignore safety norms in order to get the perfect Instagramable picture. Very recently, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis' wife Amruta too breached the security norms for the perfect selfie and later apologised for her action
