A kolkata photographer has landed in trouble for doing a bold photo shoot. For the last couple of days he is receiving constant threats over phone and social media for 'hurting religious sentiments'. On Facebook, people have threatened to kill Pritam Mitra, the photographer who did an offbeat photo shoot with a model who posed nude.

According to Zee 24 Ghanta, the photographer had posted the picture on a Facebook page called Bong Crush. And suddenly the picture became viral on social media. In the picture, a girl is seen wearing a traditional mukut, a headgear which Bengali brides wear. She is covering her face with pan pata (betel leaves) and her private parts are covered with Sindur Kouto, which is another essential component of a Bengali Hindu marriage.

The picture has angered many people on social media. While some has hailed it as a brutal slap on patriarchy, few have felt that the photographer is belittling Bengali and Hindu culture by shooting a bride without clothes.

But, rather than indulging in healthy debate, few social media users resorted to giving threats. One of them is an user with profile name 'Raj Sarkar Rinku', who said that if the picture is not deleted and the page not closed within 24 hours, Pritam will be killed. He even ascertained the price of Pritam's head. With a religious chant, Rinku has said that he has to take extreme sake if the page is not deleted for the sake of all Hindutwavadis of West Bengal.

Shaken by all threats, Pritam Mitra has now lodged a formal complaint with Kolkata Police. The cyber crime team of Kolkata police is currently investigating the case. Pritam is a professional wedding photographer, who has been in the field for five years. The quest to create something unique and make a statement has landed him in deep trouble now.
