West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today warned that her government would not allow communal harmony to be disturbed in the state.

"Communal harmony exists in West Bengal. We will not let anybody to disturb this co-existence," Banerjee, whose party Trinamool Congress is being criticised by the BJP on various issues, said here without naming any.

She was addressing a post-Durga puja get-together at Jhargram stadium with different clubs in Maoist-stronghold Jangalmahal comprising the districts of Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapur district.

"We are accustomed in staying together, sharing our joys with each other", the chief minister said. "I will request the police personnel to carry on with the coordination meetings in the same manner as it was done before the Pujas", she said.

"I love Jangalmahal. I keep coming back here. Today I reviewed the developmental works going on here", the chief minister said after holding meetings with the DMs and other top officials of the three districts to review the progress of the development works being undertaken by the state government in Jangalmahal.
