Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her support to Telegu Desam Party (TDP) saying that Bengal had been more deprived than Andhra Pradesh.

"After the budget, Andhra Pradesh government said that they had been deprived. They have my full support. Bengal has been more deprived. Whatever little we were receiving, had been taken away. They think they will force us to bow down to them like this but that won't happen," Mamata said addressing a public meeting organised by the students' and youth wing of the party at Kanchenjunga Stadium at Siliguri.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had earlier hinted at pulling out of the NDA, expressing his displeasure over the Union Budget.

Mamata also told party workers to work hard for a bigger success in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, so that Bengal played a crucial role in forming the government at the Centre. "In 2019, Bengal will show the way to the country. Your responsibilities have increased. You must be in such a way that in future, TMC will lead the country and neither the CPI(M), nor the Congress or BJP can gain any relevance here," she said.

Mamata lashed out at the BJP saying that the party was luring voters with money. "Parties like the BJP have a lot of money. Sometimes their leaders come here with boxes. Maybe those boxes contain cash, which they use to lure people," she said and warned people not to get enticed by these offers.

She said that TMC was the most transparent political party in the country. "In spite of that we are being disturbed, blackmailed and forced to bow down by the Centre and for that they had joined hands with the CPI(M) and the Congress," she said and added, "Earlier, we had been struggling to free the state from the CPI(M) rule for the last 34 years. Now, we are struggling for reaching out to the people and provide them with the benefits of all the welfare schemes and in the future it will be a fight against communal forces."

She also alleged that BJP leaders were sitting in Assam and planning how to spark communal riots in places like Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpore and Malda districts.
