A day after the Supreme Court asking BJP to approach West Bengal with a fresh proposal on rath yatras, the Bengal BJP has come out with a plan to organise maximum public meetings within February 9. BJP national president Amit Shah is likely to address five public meetings between January 20 and 22. Proposal for a rally at the Bridage Parade Ground to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been sent to the PMO.

“It has been confirmed that between January 20 and 22 Shah will address five rallies in West Bengal. On January 20 in Malda, two rallies on January 21 – at Suri in Birbhum district and another one at Jhargram district. Two rallies on January 22 – at Joynagar in South 24 Parganas and at Krishnanagar in Nadia district. While these dates have been confirmed we have also written to the PMO with a tentative date of February 8 for a rally to be attended by Modi. The date has not been confirmed by the PMO yet,” said state BJP president Dilip Ghosh after a meeting with senior BJP leaders on Wednesday, regarding what the line of action of the party will be after the cancellation of the yatra.
