Raj Kamal has become quite famous off late, due to a string of artwork on super heroes including the likes of Batman, Superman, Wolverine, The Hulk and Wonder Woman. These images began to go viral on social media because they were on world famous super heroes with completely Indian likenesses.

But before that, he brought Batman to India. Well sort of. After seeing photographers and artists abroad and how they take Lego figures and place them in different situations, Raj decided to do the same with his favourite super hero - Batman. "As an artist I'm always exploring, looking for new avenues to present my art. After seeing the foreign photographers experimenting with Legos, I thought to myself, why can't I?"

"I thought to myself, what if Batman were to come to India, where would he go, what would he do?" Of Course he'd come with Robin too.

"Using a protagonist like Batman, I wanted to show the world how beautiful my country is. What our food is like, what sights there are to see, and show everyone the wealth of culture India has to offer."

Raj says he started this project four to five months ago, when his grandmother gave his a Batman figurine for his birthday. When he started doing this, he explained that his grandmother was quite excited by it, "She was very thrilled by it, and I loved her reaction."

Raj continues to say that he still carries his Legos around, in fact, sometimes he has about 4-5 different Batman figurines in his bah, "Where ever I went, whatever I did, I like to show the world what he (Batman) would do." He also has Robin, The Joker, The Riddler, and Man-Bat.

But what about other people's reactions? Raj says that he gets great responses from people around him. "They love it, they think I'm a little weird, I suppose. But I can see the odd smile in the corner of my eye. My friends and family have been very supportive of all my endeavors."

Batman is my favourite super hero, I mean we grew up with him, and I remember watching the 1992 Tim Burton film, with Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, and I fell in love with the characters. My imagination takes over and when I place the figurines while taking the pictures, I feel like Batman comes to life.

Here's a look at Raj's full Kit. Complete with Lego Nightwing, Man-Bat, The Riddler, The Flash, and a few Batmen to spare.
