Thane: A 38-year-old owner of a beauty parlour was allegedly beaten up and abused when she refused to the advances of a 50-year-old man. Vijay Manohar Ghuge met the woman six months ago and they exchanged numbers.
"During these months, the accused used to send her vulgar messages. He also asked the woman for sexual favours, but she denied. One day, he went to her parlour and allegedly held her hand and forced her to come with him to a lodge," said an official from Vartak Nagar police station.
She somehow managed to free herself, but on Friday the accused again came to her parlour and in a fit of rage started hitting and abusing the victim. The woman later registered a complaint against the accused.
"I was alone at my parlour when the acussed came and started slapping me. He later kicked and punched me. Within a few minutes some people gathered outside the parlour, but the accused managed to flee. I want the police to given him harshest punishment," the victim said.
AR Mahajan, investigating officer, said, "We haven't arrested the accused yet as he is on the run. We are tapping his calls and hope to arrest him soon."
Meanwhile, cops have booked him under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent) 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult) 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty) of the Indian Penal Code.
