Bengaluru is busy preparing itself for the BBMP elections that will be held on Saturday, August 22. The latest addition to this year’s elections is a mobile app that will capture data in every polling booth. The BBMP Commissioner Kumar Naik made this announcement on Thursday.

This is the first time in India a mobile app is being used to gather polling information. Officials at every booth will now update voter turnout and any other information using the app, on an hourly basis. This info will also be updated on the BBMP website and be shared with the State Election Commission as well.
