As Lok sabha polls draw near, all parties have upped their expenditure for advertisement campaigns. The first party that launched the campaign was Congress with, 'Har haath shakti, har haath tarakki' with Rahul Gandhi in lead while BJP's polls campaign has been strong yet subtle with initiatives such as 'Chai pe Charcha'.

But, recently we came across some posters of Tamil Nadu Chief minister Jayalalithaa that had generated ire on social media platforms. From being hailed as the best PM of 2014 by Kim Jong, Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin to teaching them lessons about development, these posters potrayed 'Amma' as the future PM of India.

She is well known for doling out table-fans, utilities and other incentives before elections and has even started, 'Amma eateries' where food is sold at subsidised rates.

-This poster that has sprung up at strategic locations across the state of Tamil Nadu and shows Jayalalithaa being hailed by global leaders. It even includes Kim Jong, Barack Obama and others.

-This poster reminded us of a certain temple built for Sonia Gandhi by Congress workers. Both the pictures look uncannily similar. If only the photoshop was better.

-The tiff between Sri lanka and Tamil Nadu has been the topic of debate for long. But, this picture shows Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapaksa bowing down to Amma. Surely, a political message is conveyed in a subtle tone.

- The Modi-mania has been catching up and how. After Narendra Modi started dressing up as per the state where he held rallies using head-gear, all his followers seem to have followed suit. Here, a Modi follower is seen decked with Modi t-shirt, BJP colored bike etc.

- Rajasthan Chief Minster Vasundhara Raje defeated Ashok Gehlot in assembly elections. This poster uses the 'BJP formula' and enlists all the achievements of Raje's governance. The best one being, "Probe ordered against Robert Vadra'.

-Again, Amma followers seem to be completely enamoured as they have shown her being hailed by world leaders with the caption, "Best PM of 2014".

- Here, the poster has highlighted Jayalalithaa's achievements. But, the error lies with language as she has been called, "King'. If only we could know whether this was done intentionally or not!

-in an uncanny resemblance to Hindu deities 'Hanuman-Ram-Sita' representation, a voter is seen showing Jayalalithaa pop through his heart et la god-style. It is a combination of dramatic and high octane politics that makes people sentimental. If you don't agree, check Karunanidhi's statements against his sons and vote speeches.

-In this scene, post Telangana formation and center giving approval, effigies of Kapil Sibal, Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar were burnt in the state. Posters against Congress high command sprung up as people rallied against the decision and how!

Not only these, but two starlets went nude in recent past to garner votes for BJP and Congress respectively. while one was covered in BJP style lotus seeking vote for NaMo, the other one wore miniscule clothing seeking votes for the Gandhi scion. While the parties clearly disapproved these antics, starlets basked in the glory.

Also, Congress spent a whopping Rs 500 crore for advertisements to present Rahul Gandhi as the Congress icon while BJP has been using new media to its leverage from quite some time.
