Basant Pratap Singh, IAS officer of 1984 batch will succeed Anonty DeSa who will be retiring from the service on October 31.

Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Basant Pratap Singh was on Thursday appointed as the new Chief Secretary (CS) of Madhya Pradesh.
The IAS officer of 1984 batch (MP Cadre) will succeed Anonty DeSa who will be retiring from the service on October 31, an official of the Public Relations department of the Madhya Pradesh government said. Singh will take charge of his new assignment from November 1.
The orders to appoint Singh as the new CS of the state was issued by the Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday morning.
As per the practice, he will initially take charge as OSD of the Chief Secretary Office from Thursday and as full- fledged CS from November 1, the official said.
At present Singh was posted as Additional Chief Secretary in the Home Department, he added.
