Banswara deaths: HC notice to govt

The court has also issued notice to Advocate General Shyam Sunder Ladrecha and has sought his reply.

The bench of Chief Justice of Rajasthan High court Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice RS Jhala has issued notice to the state government in connection with the death of infants in Banswara district hospital and sought reply by October 30. 

The court has also issued notice to Advocate General Shyam Sunder Ladrecha and has sought his reply.

The High Court Judge and Chairman, High Court Legal Services Committee Justice Gopal Krishna Vyas had shown seriousness in the case of death of infants in Banswara and asked for a report in seven days. 

After 90 deaths in 63 days, he took cognizance on his own and despite Eid holiday called the Deputy Secretary of Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority immediately and sought factual report from Banswara.

The report submitted by Banswara District Legal Services Authority shows many shocking facts. 

There was disorder at the hospital and lack of oxygen and unhygienic conditions. Due to which 49 infant girls and 41 infant boys died.
