Security officials on Monday at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow arrested a Bangladeshi national with a fake passport, over charges of forgery of valuable security and documents. According to sources, the Bangladeshi youth had arrived in a flight from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates city on the Arabian Gulf and was on his way to board a second flight to Kolkata.

The man has been identified as Rejba, the son of one Abdul Mannan in Bangladesh. Mannan is a resident of the Madaripur district in central Bangladesh, part of the Dhaka provision. The forged passport that was acquired from Rejba was reportedly in the name of one Satyajit Das from the North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal.

Sources said that the airport administration was tipped off by intelligence reports and was alerted regarding the possibility of such an incident. The security officials successfully apprehended the individual and handed him over to the Sarojini Nagar police on Monday.

Further details are awaited.
