#Badaun gang-rape: Digvijay Singh condemns 'disgusting behaviour' of UP police

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has severely criticised the Uttar Pradesh Police for their 'disgusting behaviour' in the Badaun gang-rape case.

In a post on the microblogging site Twitter, Singh said, "Disgusting behaviour of UP Police in Budayun Rape Case. Policemen abetting this crime deserve most severe punishment along with the accused".

Singh also demanded the "most severe punishment" for the policemen who were involved in the crime. Of the five accused of gang-raping and murdering the two Dalit teenaged girls, and hanging their bodies from a tree, two are police constables.

All the five accused have been arrested.
