When someone lands in a major trouble, he tries to seek divine blessings by visiting religious places so that his problems ease out. Former dairy minister Babulal Nagar –who has been accused of raping a woman– is no exception. But, it seems Nagar’s all prayers have gone unheard by God as he was finally arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday.
Interestingly, since Babulal Nagar’s name has come up in the alleged rape case, he has visited shrines, conducted yajna’s to appease forefathers, consulted priests and even astrologers.
A case was registered against the legislator from Dudu on September 17 at Sodala police station. As the pressure mounted on Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take effective action in the matter, the former minister jumped notice given by CID to appear before it and allegedly left for Shirdi on September 23 for darshan at Sai Baba’s shrine.
Besides, a day before the CBI started its investigations in the case, Nagar visited Pushkar town and conducted yajnas. The former minister performed the offerings to appease his forefathers, which according to astrologers can cause problems in a person’s life. Interestingly, even Babulal Nagar accepted going to religious centres for seeking relief. Talking to the media at Pushkar Nagar had said that he had been visiting religious places to get divine blessings for himself in tough times.
Meanwhile, a few days back, Nagar invited a priest of a famous shrine at his house. The meeting between the Congress leader and the priest took place early in the morning and reportedly the leader sought the priest’s blessings.
Besides, on October 24, a day before the man appeared before the CBI for his questioning which later led to his arrest, the man met with a renowned astrologer from Sanganer area. The meeting with the astrologer lasted nearly two hours wherein a yajna was also conducted for easing the troubles of former minister.
However, it seems that all the run about for spiritual blessings have gone in vain as the CBI has based its arrest on the FSL report which reveals that the DNA samples of Nagar have matched with the semen found on the clothes of the alleged victim woman.
