Former minister Babulal Nagar could soon be placed under arrest. In a major breakthrough, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in its report has reportedly confirmed that ex-minister’s DNA extracted from his blood matches that of the semen taken off the clothes worn by the woman who has accused him of rape.
The FSL handed over the report to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team, which is investigating the case, said sources. Officials said there is “clinching evidence” against the former minister and he could well be arrested in two days time.
Armed with the report, the CBI is now going about acquiring any video footage or photographic evidence, which shows the rape victim in the same saree the day she was allegedly raped by the former minister at his official residence.
The CBI may track her movements on September 11, the day she was allegedly raped, through mobile phone towers.
Nagar appeared for medical examination at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital on 28th September, ten days after an FIR was registered against him on court orders.
His medical reports and samples were then sent to the FSL for necessary investigations. The FSL had already been provided with the woman’s clothes.
Nagar has throughout denied the charges and has claimed to be a victim of political conspiracy.
