Denying any relief to former minister Babulal Nagar, accused in the sexual assault case, the special additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) court for CBI cases dismissed Nagar’s bail plea on Wednesday. The court rejected the bail application on the ground that a report on the voice CD submitted to the CBI is still pending and statements by some witnesses are yet to be recorded. The court also said that as the case is in the sessions court for trial and the accused cannot be given the benefit of bail in this case.
The public prosecutor informed the court that during investigation, the victim had submitted a CD to CBI in which there is a mention of money offered to the victim in return of withdrawal of case against Nagar. This CD has been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in New Delhi and the report is awaited.
Blackbuck poaching case: Jodhpur court issues bailable warrant against Suraj Barjatya
CJM’s court in Jodhpur on Wednesday issued bailable warrants against film director Suraj Barjatya, who is a witness in the blackbuck poaching case of 1998 for failing to appear before it despite repeated summons. The court has also issued warrant against former police officer Satyamani Tiwari, another witness in the case. CJM Chandrakala Jain summoned all witness for examination before the court; trial of this 15-year-old case is underway. Actresses Sonali Bendre and Tabu were produced before the court on Monday for identification.
Top babus, including CS, served summons
Rajasthan High Court has summoned seven top officials and the vice-chancellor of Rajasthan University to clarify state government’s policy on female foeticide, organ transplant and extension of SMS Hospital. The court sent notices to acting chief secretary CS Rajan, principal secretary to government, medical education, principal secretary higher education, JDA commissioner, principal SMS medical college, superintendent of SMS Hospital, JMC CEO and VC of Rajasthan University to be present before the court on Friday at 2pm.
Meanwhile, the court has also ordered the additional attorney general to present documents related to excess fee being charged at the Metro Hospital in Mansarovar. The single bench of Justice Mahesh Chandra Sharma gave this order on the criminal petition filed by SK Gupta regarding female foeticide, organ transplant, extension of SMS hospital as well as excess fee being charged at the Metro hospital.
Take up tests related to murder, sexual assault, divorce related to murder on priority: HC to labs
The high court has directed the FSL to take up tests related to murder, sexual assault and divorce related murder on priority. The single bench of Justice Kanwaljit Singh Ahluwalia gave this decision on bail application filed by divorce-related-murder-case accused Dholpur resident Lokpal Singh. The court directed investigating officer to submit report within a week.
RPSC issued notice in marks tampering case
The Rajasthan High Court has issued notice to RPSC secretary and registrar High Court seeking reply in tampering of marks secured by petitioner Richa Kaushik in the Rajasthan Judicial Services Exam 2011. The court also directed RPSC to not destroy petitioner’s marks record without court’s prior permission.
Petitioner Richa Kaushik told the court that she was awarded 192 marks, one less than cutoff.
When the petitioner saw her answer copy, she found that she secured 31 marks in Hindi but her answers were struck using another pen and cut to 29, which resulted in her disqualification.
