Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday raised objections to the Uttar Pradesh government’s move to impose a ban on Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s proposed ‘Sankalp Diwas’, and said that the Congress and some political parties were trying to create a communal divide within the country

“Congress and some political parties are trying to create an atmosphere of communal polarisation in the country. They want to spread communal, economic, political and social differences and insecurity within the country which is dangerous for the nation,” he told the media.

The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) Government has banned VHP’s ‘Sankalp Diwas’ fearing a communal flare-up.

The decision was reportedly taken in view of security concerns, especially after the recent communal clashes in Muzaffarnagar and the surrounding areas.

The VHP has given a call to observe ‘Sankalp Diwas’ in Ram Sewak Puram in Ayodhya to organise a gathering to undertake a resolution for launching an agitation for rebuilding the Ram Temple.

Meanwhile, Ramdev exuded confidence in BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Ramdev also praised Modi, and said that he cannot be corrupt.

“Modi cannot be corrupt and cannot divide the nation. If the subordinates of Modi do anything wrong then we will ask Modi to remove them. I guarantee on behalf of Modi,” he said.
