Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, whose company Patanjali landed some bad press on Monday for terming dark complexion as a skin ailment, clarified on Tuesday that the problem was due to translation.

On Monday, news that the product's medical benefits hit the internet because of the description. "Possesses the benefits of wheat germ oil, turmeric, aloe-vera, and basil etc. which are extremely beneficial for skin ailments like dry skin, dark complexion and wrinkles. Patanjali beauty cream is not just another cream but is a skin nourishment tonic and treatment. It gives you the confidence of 100% natural beauty. Try it yourself and suggest to your family and friends."

To clarify, Ramdev took to Twitter and said, "We approved the word - 'Skin Complications' which by error, got changed in translation/copy-writing. I always talked about maintaining natural beauty and never supported color discrimination."

Two years ago, Ramdev had announced that multinational companies were in India to sell fairness creams to the public.

Ramdev, whose Patanjali group has also diversified into a range of ayurvedic products, said that the multinational companies were fooling the customers by making false promises.

"I searched all over the world but could not find even a single girl whose complexion turned from darker to fairer by applying fairness beauty cream," the yoga guru said.

"These are the high-end cameras that take dark scene of a beautiful girl and by editing the scene same girl is posed in her real face," Ramdev said, adding that these girls were beautiful by birth. Interestingly, Patanjali group also sells a beauty cream product.  Ramdev was speaking at an event at Sanyas Ashram in Mumbai.

Taking a potshot at those "having a grudge" on his company's high growth propositions and attaining bigger brand positioning, he said, "Those, having devil's approach always think about how a single man is flourishing so fervently. I invite them to work as hard and with the commitment, that I do 19 hours per day."

Ramdev also said that all the profit earned through Patanjali brand products would go for charity and in the service of the nation.
