A day after over a hundred prominent Hindu seers put across their unequivocal demand to bring a legislation to construct Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, the BJP too ratcheted the. The construction of a grand Ram Temple was promised on Monday through BJP president Amit Shah and union cabinet minister Uma Bharti.

In a roadshow at Indore, on the last day of electoral campaign in Madhya Pradesh, Shah said that a grand Ram Mandir should be built at the same designated place.

"We believe that a grand Ram Mandir should be constructed at that spot in Ayodhya only," Shah said.

A day earlier, he had said that the BJP will not introduce a Bill for Ram Mandir construction in the winter session of Parliament and instead would wait for the Supreme Court's decision. Hearing on the Ayodhya land dispute case will begin from January 9, 2019.

Bharti, who had taken part in the 1992 Ram Janmbhoomi movement in the 90s, lauded Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray for visiting Ayodhya to seek blessings of Ram Lalla and demand early construction of Ram Mandir.

"Yes, I appreciate Uddhav Thackeray for his effort. BJP doesn't have a patent on Ram Mandir; Bhagwan Ram is for all," Bharti said on Monday.

She appealed to everyone, including Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Mayawati of Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), Akali Dal, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and SP leader Azam Khan to extend their support for the construction of the temple without any prejudices.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an oblique reference to the Ram Temple, had blamed Congress for putting stumbling blocks in the construction of the mandir, by pressuring the Supreme Court judges.

Incidentally, the Congress refrained itself from taking up the issue as a violation of the electoral laws that restrain politicians from using religious issues in campaigns.

Close on the heels of PM Modi's Alwar speech, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also threw his weight for early construction of Ram Mandir on Sunday at Hunkar Sabha in Nagpur.

"The matter is in court and the decision should be given early. It has also been proved that the temple was there. Justice delayed is justice denied," said Bhagwat, warning that one should not play with pious religious emotions of Hindus.

In a parallel, at the Dharm Sansad in Varanasi, a number of Hindu seers also discussed the Ram Mandir issue at length. Not only they discredit VHP's Dharmsabha in Ayodhya as political, but also unanimously rejected UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's announcement to install a grand 151 metre tall statue of Lord Ram on the banks of Sarayu.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand, senior disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati of Jyotir Math, said, "The idol of Bhagwan Ram can only be installed after conducting a pran pratishtha."
