Assembly Elections 2018: BJP declares 4th & final list for Rajasthan

Mamta Sharma, a senior Congress leader and former chairperson of the National Women Commission who joined the BJP on Sunday, will fight from Pipalda assembly.

The fourth list of the remaining 30 candidates of BJP was declared on Sunday. Thirteen sitting legislators of the party have not found a mention in the lists this year. Keshoraipatan MLA and cabinet minister Babulal Verma has been fielded from Baran-Atru. While Cabinet minister Jaswant Yadav's name has been dropped.

The BJP has also given tickets to three parachute candidates. Kalpana Raje, wife of Kota royal family member and former MP Ijyaraj Singh, who left the Congress and joined the BJP on Sunday has been given a ticket from Ladpura constituency of Kota, the list confirms.

Mamta Sharma, a senior Congress leader and former chairperson of the National Women Commission who joined the BJP on Sunday, will fight from Pipalda assembly.

As per BJP the list, the party has given ticket to Yadav's son Mohit from Behror. Jaipur Mayor Ashok Lahoti has been fielded from Sanganer against rebel MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari. Lahoti, a Vaishya candidate, will contest from Sanganer which is considered a Brahman seat. From this seat, the BJP has been giving tickets to the Brahmin candidate till now and for the first time, a Vaishya face has been nominated. Ghanshyam Tiwari the sitting MLA of the seat, who is contesting as a Bharat Vahini Party candidate — the party he formed after leaving BJP.

Keshoraipatan MLA and the food and supply minister of the state Babu Lal Verma however has not been given a ticket by the party this year.
