With just about a fortnight to go for the polling in the crucial central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, ruling BJP is leaving no stone unturned in its effort to increase its victory margin in what is billed to be a tough fight against Congress.

How much importance BJP's central leadership is attaching to winning the state can be gauged from the fact that party supremo Amit Shah is spending a full week here, beginning November 15. Elaborate planning has been done by the state unit for the same during which he would be doing road shows, public rallies and workers meetings.

While the party has already camped Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Bhopal since the beginning of last month, besides deploying 'popular' spokesman Dr Sambit Patra to look after the media, the national president is also constantly in touch with booth-level workers, party state chief Rakesh Singh said.

Madhya Pradesh, with 230 seats, goes to polls on November 28 and various initial election surveys have indicated a tough fight between BJP and opposition Congress. Although BSP, SAPAKS and AAP are also in the fray, the main fight is between the traditional rivals Congress and BJP.

Amit Shah's whirlwind tour of MP begins from Thursday during which he is expected to cover over 60-70 constituencies. Soon after landing at Indore, he will be going to Barwani in Nimar from where he would go Shajapur and then to Badnagar to address a public rally.

Singh said the BJP chief would crisis-cross Madhya Pradesh in a chopper and cover almost all the regions from Malwa to Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand to Mahakaushal in seven days.

Congress has pressed into service its main campaigner Jyotiraditya Scindia. A front runner for the CM's post, Scindia is also electioneering in Malwa, where Congress is expecting to reap rich returns.
