The Assembly Elections 2021 results will finally come out today with the Election Commission set to begin counting of votes at 8 AM. The results will be updated every minute on the Election Commission of India's website - https://results.eci.gov.in. It will display the current round-wise trends and results of each constituency.

All eyes are on the West Bengal Assembly election results. The elections saw a fierce battle between the Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. While Mamata Banerjee's TMC is seeking to come to power for the third consecutive term, the BJP is projecting itself as the winner in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly.

The third front which is a coalition of the Congress, Left Front, and Indian Secular Force seems nowhere close to TMC and the BJP in the race to the West Bengal Assembly.

In its rallies and yatras, the BJP highlighted the failures of the Mamata Banerjee government apart from focusing on the 'alternative' that it is offering.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed around 20 rallies in West Bengal with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda also addressed over 50 rallies in West Bengal.

The closest contest was seen in Nandigram from where Mamata Banerjee contested the elections this time, choosing over her home turf Bhabanipur seat. She is taking on her former ministerial colleague Suvendu Adhikari, who had joined the BJP in December last year.

Several exit poll surveys gave an edge to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). Some exit polls predicted that the BJP would make major inroads and a few also said that the party would emerge victoriously.

Assam

In Assam, the BJP has an alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) and the Gana Suraksha Party (GSP).

The ruling BJP is facing a challenge from 'Mahajoth' or 'Grand Alliance' comprising the Congress, AIUDF, Bodoland Peoples' Front (BPF), CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML) Liberation, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Anchalik Gana Morcha (AGM).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed five-six public rallies in Assam, which saw a three-phase election.

As per the Zee News Maha Exit Poll, the BJP+ will take 73 seats, whereas Congress+ will win on 51 assembly constituencies. Others will bag two seats.
