Assam Governor J B Patnaik, who met President Pranab Mukherjee today, said, " I have not resigned, if there are rumours, I cannot help on that."

He asked : "Who has created this news? Do you only meet the President when you only have to resign? Why are you dragging me on to which governor has resigned?"

"If you have created such news, then you should kill it, you should be the creator and not be the destroyer," he added.
