Assam government sends ADGP to Jammu and Kashmir government to rescue stranded Assamese

The Assam Government has deputed the Additional Director General of Police (Vigilance and Anti Corruption) today to Jammu and Kashmir to liaise with the state government in order to render necessary assistance to the people of Assam stranded there.

ADGP Rajkumar Chandranathan will be camping at Srinagar and will tie up with the Jammu and Kashmir Government for taking necessary action for rendering assistance, an official statement said.

Meanwhile, the Special Branch (SB) Control Room has received enquiry from family members of 121 personnel of different government agencies working in J&K and enquiry has also been received from family members of 46 tourists who are stranded in J&K, the statement said.

The SB Control Room here has been declared as the State Control Room temporarily to help people of Assam whose relatives are stranded in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.

The phone numbers of the State Control Room are 0361- 2381511, 2380620 and Superintendent of Police Ratna Singh, is designated as the Nodal Officer with phone number 0361- 2383093(O), it added.
