Assam floods: Death toll rises to 46, 2 lakh people displaced

Nearly 16 lakh people are reeling under the fury of flood in 20 districts.

In Assam, five deaths have been reported during last 24 hours due to flood. With this, the death toll due to flood and landslide has gone up to 46 in this year. Official sources said that the army, NDRF and SDRF have carried out rescue and relief operations. 

Around 10 thousand people have been evacuated in Morigaon and Nagaon districts yesterday. Nearly 16 lakh people are reeling under the fury of flood in 20 districts although situation has improved in Upper Assam.

Nearly 2 lakh people have taken shelter at relief camps. 352 villages have been submerged in Barpeta district.
