Asaram Bapu's son Narain Sai confesses to raping woman

The son of self-styled and controversial godman Asaram Bapu, Narain Sai, has confessed to raping a woman, to having relations with various women and fathering a child, said a senior officer of Surat Police on Wednesday.

Surat Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said: “He has accepted more or less the main allegation of rape. He has admitted that he fathered a son of Moksha (name changed). He has not divulged information, and for that, we will seek further remand. Apart from it, he has also admitted eight relationships, which will be investigated.

Earlier, a court had remanded Sai to police custody in sexual assault case for five days till December 11. The crime branch of the Delhi police had arrested Sai on December 4.

Two sisters from Surat had filed a police complaint alleging that Sai and his father Asaram had raped them.

Asaram, 72, was arrested on September 01 on allegations of sexual assaulting a teenage girl at his ashram in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
