Asaram Bapu was taken to the hospital on Monday for medical examination. Various tests were conducted on the self-styled godman and a medical report is expected on Tuesday.
The examination was conducted as per the orders of the court.
On Monday evening, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) were taken. The accused was taken to MDM Hospital at Jodhpur in an armoured vehicle for the tests.
During the 20-minute journey to the hospital, the godman asked authorities to open the sunroof of the vehicle as he was feeling suffocated. Meanwhile, the tests continued for about one and a half hours but Asaram was reportedly wary of the tests. The man did not agree to the blood tests as syringes were used for the same. Moreover, he even questioned police’s motive, asking if the police would get his narco tests done after the injection.
Interestingly, Asaram reportedly did not converse with any male staff at the hospital, but he had talked to a woman staff at MRI centre. Meanwhile, after Asaram came out of the hospital he had to be supported by police officials who helped him get on the riot control vehicle in which he was brought.
Notably, after court orders a medical board was constituted in this regard that was asked to conduct the tests and checkup. The board also consisted of a neurology expert. Based on the board’s report, the court will decide whether or not to permit outside food for Asaram. Asaram has already undergone two similar medical tests earlier.
